A very successful race in Clarinbridge last weekend with Athenry AC's Jane-Ann Healy (her running name!) winning the women's race and Mike Cunningham (Bilboa AC - silent "a"!) winning the men's race. However, IMVHO, the big news from the race was the dipping under 40 minutes for the first time of a very good friend of the club's, Diarmuid Quill (Craughwell AC). How many people can boast of a 2M high jump and a sub-40m 10KM - not too many I'll bet? Sincere congratulations, especially from all of us who are still soldiering in that particular direction, most of us never to see it! He can now take it easy in Athenry after Christmas.
