Over 100 runners took part in the Corrib/Mask half marathon challenge on Sunday the 26th of August last, in aid of the local Zambia Housing Project. The organisers were delighted with the turn out on this, the first year in holding the event. The weather was ideal for endurance running and the majestic scenery between Lough Mask and Lough Corrib further complimented the event. The race started and finished in the village of clonbur taking in the townland of Cloughbrack and the village of Cornamona.

The first male runner home was Timmy Glavey and the first female runner home was Verena Tarpey. The race was a wonderful success and it is hoped to make this an annual event.

The Zambia Housing Project committee would like to thank everybody who helped out in any way on the day.

Michael Dolan - Race Director.
