Abbeyknockmoy Hurling & Camogie Club ran a very successful 5KM through Monivea Woods on Sunday morning, 1 September.

Abbeyknockmoy Hurling & Camogie Club would like to thank all the participants who took part in our 2nd Annual - run in the woods!

In 2012 the clubs chose to have Console as a charity partner given that it's a charity which is close the the hearts of many, and Abbeyknockmoy in particular. When deciding on what kind of fundraising event to hold, we wanted something which would appeal to our club members and the general public alike so the decision to have a fun run/walk was almost unanimous.

As with everything there are always lessons to be learned and indeed this year has been no different, and we now look forward to 2014's event with great anticipation.

We'd like to pay a special thanks to East Galway Athletics for sponsoring our permit application with the AAI and, of course, to all for supporting the event.

We hope you enjoyed the run and are always open to feedback so please don't hesitate to get in contact with us.

We hope to hold next years event on the 1st Sunday of September again so pencil it in for next year.
