The wet & blustery weather didn’t prevent a good turnout by the Athenry members for this local 5km race yesterday. Twenty club members toed the line with nine of those crossing the finish line in under 20 minutes, amongst those, Kieran Guiry, who after very many attempts :), dipped under the 20 minute marker for the first time. He did it in style too with a time of 19.26 & in current form it won't be long before he breaks the 19 minute barrier.

Jane Ann Healy continued her brilliant form with another win (three in a month) with a time of 18.48. She wasn’t the only club member to take home some silverware as Bernie Mulryan & Martin Keane also won their age categories.

It was good to see the next generation taking part too with Tiernan Burke pacing his mother Maeve to a sub 28.

See small note from Race Director, Andrew Talbot & results are attached below.

We enjoyed putting on the event and hoped you all enjoyed your time in Carnmore and achieved your goal on the day.
