It was fabulous sunny day for 8k race in Abbey (near Loughrea) on Sunday 11th March 2018, with two loops of the village and lots of downhill it was the perfect race.

I chickened out of running the race after a hen night in Mullingar the night before and walked with my boys and family living in Abbey. It took me 1 hour 18 minutes and I arrived back just in time for medal presentations.

First man home was Conor Dolan GCH in 28.19 and even more impressive first lady home was Yvonne Fehily Athenry AC in 33.55.

The crystal kept coming for Athenry AC with our very own Martin Keane 47.25 receiving a Special Achievement Award.  

Also a quick mention to the first local man home - Martin McDonagh 40.02 brother of Pat McDonagh Athenry AC.

I thoroughly enjoyed my Mother's Day walk.
