RTE is accepting nominations for the RTE Sports Awards 2007 until next Friday the 14th December (next Friday).

This is a gilt-edged opportunity for us to highlight the achievements of our very own Paul Hession during 2007. We all know by now about the national records he has broken, the major races he has competed in and the huge contribution he makes to our club and so I won't list all of those achievements here again.

Not alone is this an opportunity for us to highlight Paul's personal achievements but it is also a chance for us to promote the cause of Irish Athletics generally as you can be sure there'll be plenty of nominations from other major sports. It would be a shame if athletics, particularly in the West of Ireland, didn't get its fair share of the limelight.
