6.2 miles (Fields of Athenry 10k).

3. What’s your favourite racing distance?

10 miles/half marathon.

4. Where’s you favourite place to train?

Renville Park and Tobberoe Wood.

5. What’s your favourite race or event each year?

Fields of Athenry 10k.

6. What annoys you most at races?

Runners stopping in the centre of road to walk.

7. What race, that you haven’t yet run, would you most like to take part in?

London Marathon.

8. What was your best-ever running performance?

1987 Belfast Marathon 3:31.

9. What was your worst-ever running performance?

Portumna 10k (last).

10. What’s the strangest thing that you’ve ever seen on a training run?

Came eyeball to eyeball with armed soldiers in Tobberoe wood one day. They were on an overnight training camp. I survived.

11. Favourite piece of running gear?

Light blue hoodie also my Jack Russell terrier called Able (who is no longer with us).

12. Who would you most enjoy beating in a sprint for the line?

The 2nd slowest runner in Athenry AC.

13. What was the best bit of training advice you were ever given?

Put the head down and keep going.

14. In ten years time will you still be running?

Oh dear!! Prefer to count in months nowadays.

15. If for some reason you were told you could never run again, how do you think you’d react?

Not the end of World. Can always use the rocking chair!!

16. Have you ever been bitten by a dog while running?

No, don't like going back for a hair of the dog that bit.

17. Have you ever had to stop for an emergency ‘Paula’ during a race?

No.

18. Favourite post-race food?

Anything really, I'd never refuse a pint of Guinness.
