1. What running shoes do you train in?

Asics Gel Cumulus.

2. How many miles did you run last week?

0, am still recovering from tendonitis.

3. What's your favourite racing distance?

10k.

4. Where's you favourite place to train?

Around Dooradoyle and Cashel.

5. What's your favourite race or event each year?

Dundrum 10k in Tipperary or the streets of Galway.

6. What annoys you most at races?

Lack of signs at bigger events, advising runners where to line up -- 60 min 10 mile runners start here, 70 min runners here etc, to stop the field getting all jumbled.

7. What race, that you haven't yet run, would you most like to take part in?

Trier Half Marathon in Germany.

8. What was your best-ever running performance?

Best is relative, but I was happy with 77 mins over a challenging 10 mile course in Rathcoole in the Dublin Bus 10 miler.

9. What was your worst-ever running performance?

53 minutes for a 10k in Clonmel.

10. What's the strangest thing that you've ever seen on a training run?

Nothing really stands out.

11. Favourite piece of running gear?

My adidas shorts, they're really comfortable.

12. Who would you most enjoy beating in a sprint for the line?

Probably John Mac after the Streets of Galway incident.

13. What was the best bit of training advice you were ever given?

Beer is not carb loading.

14. In ten years time will you still be running?

Hopefully.

15. If for some reason you were told you could never run again, how do you think you'd react?

I'd be disappointed but would start looking for something else.

16. Have you ever been bitten by a dog while running?

Thankfully, no.

17. Have you ever had to stop for an emergency 'Paula' during a race?

No.

18. Favourite post-race food?

Pizza.

19. Most embarrassing ever running-related moment?

When, on the final stages of a half marathon, I was passed by a guy running and pushing a pram. Or John Mac out sprinting me and slapping my arse as he went past at the streets of Galway.

Sonia O'Sullivan.
