In its 12th year almost 390 athletes took part in the Tuam 8km today. The weather was cold and temperatures were hovering around 7 degrees with intermittent showers. GCH dominated the podium taking 5 of the 6 places. The top two men finished in the same order as last year, with Gary Thornton GCH taking the honours in 24.22 followed by Matthew Bidwell GCH 25.54. Michael O'Connor GCH finished 3rd in 27.10.

Regina Casey GCH won the women's race for a third consecutive year. Regina finished in 29.09 knocking almost a half min off her 2015 time. Zola Flynn Carly AC finishand 2nd in 31.43 and Clare Rowe GCH crossed the line in 31.47.
