Galway Bay 10km/Half Marathon/Marathon 1st October

The first event of the day was the marathon which kicked off bright and early at 8:30am. Starting at Nimo's Pier at the Claddagh, the athletes ran 2 laps of South Park before running through the heart of Salthill as far as the Barna Road junction. The route then lead the athletes back via the Golf Club and along the Prom returning to the Claddagh. Following this the runners completed another 3 laps of this course. The race started under blue cloudless skies and conditions remained dry and very pleasant for the duration of all 3 events.

The 10km kicked off at 10:30am as 1331 runners lined up on Nimo's Pier at the Claddagh. The route brought the athletes out to Salthill to the Barna Junction and back via the Golf Club and along the Prom finishing at the Claddagh.

The half marathon with 1002 participants took off after mid day at 12:15. The course comprised 2 laps.
