With the 5k series ongoing for the month of May, the weekends racing has been quiet of late in Galway. This weekend saw the renewal of the Mayfly 10k in Oughterard with just shy of 100 entrants. Galway City Harriers were triumphant in both the mens & womens races with Matt Bidwell & Sinead Brody...

With lovely routes through the bogs & forests around Monivea this is another set of races that is always well supported by Athenry AC. Organised by club Chairman, Tony Killarney, he even managed to arrange for fantastic sun last year. Entries available here.

In Longford today Siobhan Guinan was first lady home in a time of 45.34 in the 10k Cairn Hill Challenge, a well earned title. Down in Limerick Lezan Kimutai won the marathon & Peter Brandon won the half marathon as part of the Limerick Run. Chris Deakin dipped under the 90mins for the first time...
